CINCINNATI– (January 12, 2022)–Partnership for Innovation in Education (PIE) was recently awarded $100,000 through an Industry Sector Partnership (ISP) Grant from Ohio Lt. Governor Jon Husted, Director of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation. PIE is one of 13 workforce partnerships to receive an ISP grant, and a total of $2.58 million was awarded to the selected partnerships.

“The awards made today support Industry Sector Partnerships across the state as they expand best practices to help Ohioans enter the workforce in many different industries,” said Lt. Governor Husted. “These partnerships give everyone a seat at the table and require collaboration between the public and private sectors. We have seen this model succeed and will continue to invest in partnerships that prepare more students and job seekers for high wage jobs in their regions.”

PIE received its grant for its “Preparing Students for Transportation + Information Technology Sectors with PIE CaseLAB® Career Academy and the Ohio Department of Transportation’s DriveOhio Smart Mobility Ambassador Program.”

“We are honored to have received an ISP grant from Lt. Governor Husted in support of our programs which help bring real-life STEM experiences in transportation and information technology careers to local high school students. Our collaboration with DriveOhio allows us to provide students with mentoring, networking opportunities and a chance to learn more about careers in these growing industry sectors,” said Mary Welsh Schlueter, CEO and founder of PIE.
