PIE Receives $100,000 Amplifying Graduation Pathways Grant from the Ohio Department of Education

CINCINNATI– (June 2, 2022)–Partnership for Innovation in Education (PIE) recently received an “Amplifying Graduation Pathways” $100,000 grant from the Ohio Department of Education (ODE). These grants from the ODE help support non-profit organizations, career-technical planning districts, registered apprenticeship training providers and institutes of higher education in their programs that help with long-term graduation requirements for high school.

“The Department is pleased to award these grants to organizations that will be developing or expanding programming related to Ohio’s alternative demonstrations of competency in the long-term graduation requirements.” said Sara Watson, Grant Manager of the Amplifying Ohio’s Pathways to Graduation Grants at the Ohio Department of Education. “PIE is developing emerging career programming that will directly benefit Cincinnati Public School students.”

“We are pleased to announce we have been selected to receive the Amplifying Ohio’s Pathways to Graduation grant. We will utilize these funds to address the gaps in graduation rates due to the COVID-19 pandemic by providing technical assistance to Cincinnati Public Schools. Technical assistance programs will directly support schools and districts to provide them information about how to develop new programming or adapt current programming to increase student access to the long-term graduation requirements, particularly the alternative demonstrations of competency,” said Mary Welsh Schlueter, CEO and founder of PIE.
